For over 200 years pharmaceutical research has led to the development of breakthrough medicines and vaccines that have helped millions of patients around the world to live longer and healthier lives.

This is the result of continuous step by step research known as ‘incremental innovation’. It can take up to 14 years to bring a medical product to market.

Our world needs biopharmaceutical innovation. But, to continue to have an impact it requires constant investment, so that researchers can continue to learn and understand about diseases and develop new and better treatments for them.

We created this vibrant animation using a mixture of hand drawn graphics and photography to raise awareness for the need to invest in research on behalf of IFPMA, the voice of the innovative pharmaceutical industry.
